Paying for College
A variety of financial aid resources are available to students and families to help pay for college expenses. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible. The college’s Financial Aid office uses information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility to receive federal grants, loans, work-study funds, and more. Other sources of funding include scholarships and grants that are available from a variety of community groups and organizations such as the Garrett College Foundation. Visit our Financial Aid 101 page to learn more about grants, scholarships, loans, and other forms of student aid that may be available to students.
Don’t get dropped -- have payment arrangements in place before the due date. By the payment due date, students must have their full balance covered by financial aid, have a payment plan in place, or have made payment in full. Students who do not meet the deadline will be dropped from classes and housing (if applicable). Payment due dates are listed in the my.bianlifan.com academic calendar.

Payment Plans
All tuition and fees are assessed at the time of registration for classes and payment is due by the published due date. A student may enroll in an automatic payment plan for a fee. A student using a payment plan is required to make all payments on time. A student who does not keep current with payments may not be eligible to register for a subsequent semester.
Garrett College has contracted with the Nelnet (NBS) Tuition Plan, which allows students to make payments with multiple installments. To set up a payment plan, students need to complete the online Garrett College/NBS application and pay the nonrefundable enrollment fee. The remaining balance of tuition and fees will be payable in the set number of installments as established by the payment agreement.
Availability of the payment plan is determined by Garrett College. Please be aware the college may elect not to have the payment plan available during specific times and dates during registration. More information about the payment plan is below:

Balance Adjustments
Please do not assume your balance will automatically be adjusted if financial aid is received or a class is dropped or added. You should review your agreement balance online.nbspayments.com or contact the Garrett College Business Office at 301-387-3063 to confirm the change.
Note: In determining the amount to be budgeted, financial aid awarded or disbursed by the College must be deducted from each semester's costs. The College reserves the right to adjust the budgeted amount if financial aid has not been fully considered in the calculations.
